July 26th

Oops...this blog was posted on the wrong site...Oops..

Today Mom is back to being out of it again. I called this morning for an update and she was still pretty alert. She was asked if she wanted food and she declined. She didn't want any liquids either. I think she is fearful of choking as it has become hard for her to swallow.

When Debbie had gotten there around 10, Mom was out of it..apparently she had become agitated and was also having trouble taking her morphine. And, her right leg was very restless (which is part of her disease). She was given some Adavan (sp) and that combined with the morphine has knocked her out. She has not had any food or liquid since Monday the 21st. I don't know how long someone can go without that, especially in a very weakened state.

More later...

Independence Day

This Independence Day was a sort of independence for Reg and me..it was our first without kids at home..So we celebrated! We went to the Mariners Game. The game started at 1:10PM. We decided to stay overnight in Seattle at the Silver Cloud Hotel, right across from Safeco Field. This was the view from our room! Pretty cool!
Here we are in our seats in the Terrace Club level. I had some 2 for 1 tickets, so we went this route. It was fun! In seat food service, bigger, padded seats..In order to experience it all, we did have our food delivered to our seats. It's more expensive, but our attitude was.."who cares!" We were in row 2 in the 200 level. Real close to the foul pole in right field. It was one of those areas where you need to keep an eye on the ball. I have found though that my perception of where the ball is hit is a bit skewed.
Our view (no zoom) of the field

Ichiro!! Zoomed!! No, he's not on the phone!

Happy 4th of July!!

After the game we returned to the hotel and vegged out. We had dinner at Jimmy's which is in the hotel. The food was great! At the Silver Cloud, the pool is on the 9th floor and that's where we headed around 9PM to wait for the fireworks on Elliott Bay. It was quite crowded up there. I'm glad we got there early. This is a picture of the sun reflecting on one of the downtown buildings.

FIREWORKS!!
It was a wonderful time and with all that's gone on recently, it was a nice escape for us!
I hope you all had a wonderful holiday too!
