Today (Sunday) ends a wonderful week of vacation. Last Sunday I put together a list of goals. By the end of the first day, I crossed them off and put a new goal down. RELAX!!! It was so wonderful. Monday I worked on the house a bit..I had gotten a roll top desk at a yard sale and got it incorporated into the family room. I still have a long way to go to organize my craft area..I need help..we are still trying to get rid of our old entertainment center, so that's still sitting in the room..
Tuesday, I worked some more on the house. One of my goals was to go to a beach with a chair and a book. I was really enjoying my time at home all by myself and almost gave up that goal. It was a conversation with my sis that made me decide to do the beach..so, I packed a chair, a book, some magazines and my IPOD and headed for Potlatch State Park. It was a warm, but not hot day and there was a nice breeze there. From there I went to our Hoodsport office and got adjusted..I topped off the day with a spa pedicure!
Wednesday arrived..Reg was taking Wednesday and Thursday off. We started Wednesday with a meeting Reg had in Issaquah. We met a nice couple and while Reg toured the water system, I visited with Terry, the wife of Reg's client. We had a lot in common, but the best (funniest, weird) part is that her husband's ex-wife is someone we know from our old church here in Shelton...That was crazy!!
After the meeting, we found Fatburger and had lunch there. That was good. Figuring out all our options, we then decided to experience IKEA..that is an experience all its own..
We were then going to the Mariners game, but had some time to burn, so we went to Fred Meyers in Renton and found our patio furniture on sale!! Then it was off to the Mariners vs LA Angels..I forgot my camera, so this was the best picture I could get with my phone..The Edgar Martinez sign..The Mariners won in 12 innings and we finally got home around 1AM...it was a wonderful day!!
On Thursday, Reg built me a platform for my washer and dryer we bought last year. The cost for the manufactured platforms are $180 A PIECE!! Way too expensive..actually the owner of the appliance store recommended the platforms..so, the first picture is last year..
This picture is the new platform and rug. It looks much nicer, better yet, it makes me like the washer/dryer now..without the platform, I was down on one knee putting clothes in and out..it was no fun! (not that laundry is fun)
Finally!!! Our patio is finished! Well, the patio part. The step from the dining room is the last project, but we are still waiting for the city to finish whatever they need to do with the sewer project. We had dinner on the patio Saturday night and invited our neighbors, Ken and Linda over..Ken was who put in the brick with his friend Danny...IT'S SO NICE..
So, right now it's Sunday evening..Sunday went a little different than planned..we got a call Saturday night at 9PM from Hope T...she was supposed to lead worship at Olympia Rivers, but was very ill and every other alternate person was out of town or otherwise commited..so, I led worship at Olympia and at our church in Shelton..it all seemed to go well, so I'm thankful...
On Monday I had a job interview...this was something I hadn't looked for, but the opportunity presented itself..it's the second time since the billing at my office was outsourced..the attractive part of the job was the benefit package..that's something Reg and I don't have at either of our jobs..the interview itself was kind of stupid..I interviewed with 4 people and they had a list of scripted questions. Each person asked me a question and it kept going around until the end of the list. It seemed very impersonal..oh well...By Wednesday I had decided that changing jobs, especially from a job that I like (most of the time :) ) just for benefits may not be the right thing. All week long I worked at leaving it in the Lord's hands..On Friday I got my "Dear Carolyn" letter...I didn't get it..I took that to be confirmation to what I had already determined..Reg was in agreement with me..but it was a good experience. I haven't really interviewed much in the past..let alone doing the cover letter thing, having an objective in my resume, etc...
Life is good. We are blessed. We have a wonderful family and great friends..and of course, just the cutest granddaughter..Tillie Anne!!
Blessings to all!

Wow--such an informative, newsy post! Sounds like you & Dad had fun last week. I bet your glad the interview is over with & I'm proud of you for giving it a shot & stepping out of your comfort zone. I guess a change just isn't what God has in store for you right now. I'm hoping He's got change in store for me soon though!!
The patio looks great--really nice & inviting. We can have Tilly's party out there in August! Are you still thinking of doing that on 8/25? Let me know if there's anything I can do to help.
Love you!
So nice to hear about everything that's going on down there! And I'm glad you're taking care of yourself and doing some things that you want to do! :)
The patio looks great - can't wait to see it!
Love you!
